Why have a water conservation program?
All water providers who hold water rights are required by the State of Oregon Water Resources Dept to conduct a water conservation program. Additionally, there are other reasons to carry out a water conservation program.
Conservation delays the need for new reservoirs, pumping stations, and larger water mains. Conservation reduces the impact on our rivers and streams. Conservation helps assure that our children will have enough water to meet their needs in the future.
If we waste water and do not think of the future, we squander a precious resource.
