When passing by construction areas I’m always curious, “What’s going on over there?”  I get a little bit of a thrill out of reading the details of road construction that has been holding up my commute for months.  Well, if you are anything like me, here are the reasons and results of a few constructions zones that CRW is a part of.

Emergency Power Generator – Near the CRW Water Treatment you may notice, behind the fence, a large construction project is

underway. This project will provide electrical upgrades and a stand-by diesel-powered generator to meet power needs for key CRW

treatment and distribution facilities in the event of a power outage. The project will likely be finished in the spring of 2014.

Carver Bridge Transmission Main – If you have recently driven Highway 224 toward Estacada or along the south side of the Clackamas River you have probably noticed the construction of a new Carver bridge.  Clackamas County is constructing a replacement bridge to improve traffic flow

across the Clackamas River. CRW will be installing an 18-inch waterline across the bridge. 

CRW plans to finish the installation of the water line in the summer of 2014.   The County plans to finish construction of the new Carver bridge in the end of 2014.  For more information about the work Clackamas County is doing visit  https://www.carverbridge.com

MATHER RESERVOIR – This project repaired a broken section of the 12-inch diameter concrete drainpipe from CRW’s Mather Reservoir site.  Water in the line had been backing up and could have potentially damaged electronic control equipment at the reservoir. This project was completed in October 2013.
