A $1,000 reward is being offered for your help catching hydrant vandals.

Clackamas River Water has experienced an uptick in fire hydrant vandalism this summer. One 5 separate occasions fire hydrants have been vandalized in the Oregon City/Redland Road Area. One event on S Kraeft Road resulted in a potential dangerous drop in water pressure prompting over 1,000 customers to boil their water for a 24 hour period.

Tampering with the public water system, including fire hydrants, is a federal offense punishable by fine and/or imprisonment (42 USC 300).
